I am the 5th grade teacher. I was born in Wichita, Kansas, but I grew up in Shawnee just outside of Kansas City. My family moved to Arizona when I was eighteen and had just graduated from high school. I am the oldest of four daughters and we all grew up in a Christian home. I met my husband when we were sixteen, and, when we were twenty he moved to Mesa and we got married. I began teaching Bible classes when I was fourteen. After three children and volunteering at my children’s school, the staff convinced me that I needed to go to college and get a teaching certificate. Now I’ve been teaching since 1992. I have six grandchildren-- five girls and one boy, all of whom I love dearly.  In my spare time I like to read, work in my yard, and go to movies with my husband.  At my church I am in charge of ordering and keeping our teacher's supply room stocked with items to help teach our children about God and His Word. Science is my passion and I love math as well!
